We started off with lunch in the Beach and Barnicott Restaurant which is in a Georgian house with rooms on three floors, arranged with antique furniture on creaky floorboards!
We went up to the top floor and had the 'Pink Room' all to ourselves!

After the refuel, we wandered around the town. The busy market was in full swing - of course I had to stop and look here.....
We then left the crowds behind and as we were so close to the coast, drove down to Burton Bradstock, where we walked along the Jurassic cliffs......
and then back down onto the beach to feel the shingle between our toes and for one last view out to sea.

As well as this pretty firescreen with decoupage panel.
Hope you all had a peaceful weekend,
Oh, Niki, sorry for your cold!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscapes and finds- how pretty the firescreen is! I just have to do mine, and this is a great idea!
Have a nice week, and take care of yourself!

Hi Niki,
ReplyDeleteLucky you, a trip to Bridport and Burton Bradstock, and such a lovely weekend for it too. I hope you had a good time. Love the crinoline lady cloth. I've two weeks to wait for my next Bridport fix.

Oh Niki it looks as though half of us in blogland are battling with coughs and colds at the moment, such a shame just as we get some glorious sunshine.
ReplyDeleteYour day out looked wonderful, nothing beats a bit of sea air, a good meal and someretail theraphy.
Hope you are soon feeling better.

Hope you're feeling better this week? This mild damp weather seems to be good for the bugs!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an idyllic weekend, LOVE those purples! t.x
Hi Niki
ReplyDeleteBurton Bradstock is one of our special places to go for some sea air and tranquility.. P's brother has a caravan there on a very small site with senational views out to sea. Have you found the brilliant 'boot sale' in the car park at BB on a Sunday morning... well worth a visit. Battling with a horrid cough at the moment, such an unladylike affliction. Hope you improve soon.
Bye for now Frances
Hi Niki, looks like you had a lovely weekend and lovely weather too. I had a crazy, busy one. Took my daughter to visit a college for a tour then I had to work yesterday. I'm hoping that Oct will slow down for me at work, my studio is getting dusty! xo, suzy
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better now, Niki! That bruschetta looks yummy! Bruschetta is one of the only foods I make that all four of my children love (perhaps because they all love pizza)! =) The coastline looks beautiful! The only cliffs we have around here are on Martha's Vineyard. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise there was a carboot in the BB carpark - did you? What a shame I have to be at DH on Sundays!!
ReplyDeleteAt least your trip to Bridport and Burton Bradstock was in the sun. Pauley should have gone with you instead of with me in all that wind!!

Sorry Niki if I confused you about the Car Boot at Burton Bradstock.... it's actually in the West Bay car park, hardly wonder that poor Sue was confused.
