The End

Update: Now regularly posting on my new blog Niki Fretwell.

On June 29th, my blog was 9 years old.
Also on June 29th we began a rather epic 4 day move to our new home...
As anyone who has moved house will know, it is a stressful process. We have been through several ups and downs over the past year, but finally the moving date was set and we hardly dare breath until the completion phone calls were made...
All our worldly good were packed onto a large lorry and trailer and finally after a day and a half, The Stone House lay bare...

It has been a happy family home for us all, but times change and now it's just hubby and me, we are ready for a new challenge...
So as my blog reaches its natural end, I'd just like to thank all who have visited over the past 9 years. It has been a great experience to keep my blog journal and it has been wonderful to share over 1200 post with you.
I am overjoyed to say that we have now moved-in to our dream home down a narrow little lane, in peaceful, rural Devon, (something we have always hoped and yearned for)...A bit of a project, but one we wholeheartedly embrace...
A new and more private lifestyle awaits and so after having the internet connected to our home today, I bid you farewell from my blog.
Thank you,
Love Niki xx

  5. Sad day in blogland. I will miss you and all your creativity. Will you continue selling online or is that ended also? Thanks so much for the many years of sharing. Many blessings to you and your new chapter in life. I hope this isn't good-bye forever but maybe a reprieve.....:)

  6. Niki, This is a sad day for those of us who have enjoyed every photo, every story, your home and garden, your store and most of all your creations. But, I am so happy you are ending up where you have wanted to be. Thank you so much for all you have given us! Enjoy your new home, your new life and your family. . . . Thank you.

  7. Hello Ann,
Thank you for your comment. I need some time away from everything to decide what's next...
The house is a huge undertaking - it and the garden being a full time job in its own right...
The fairs and selling on-line have become difficult and so I need the time to think...
For now I am going to enjoy the summer in our new home.
    Best wishes,
    Niki

  8. Hi Ginny,
Thank you for your comment on my blog...
If truth be known, moving house has been the best way to draw a line under my blog – It was no longer making me happy and I often felt I was talking to no one!
I really do want a more private life. The house and garden are a fulltime job in themselves and I don’t want the distraction of constantly updating a blog...It is very time-consuming and life is short...I want to enjoy the seasons and this wonderful part of unspoilt Devon.

Not sure about Pinterest yet...I will continue to pin for inspiration, but possibly not my own home...
Also, I've found it to be almost impossible to make a living at ‘vintage’ these days, so I'm looking forward to some time away to think...

Happy to keep in touch via email though! 
Hope all is well with you,
    Niki xx

    1. Hi Susy,
Sorry, this is the end of my blog - The garden we have inherited is a huge undertaking and I doubt we shall ever tame it, so I will no longer have hours to spare blogging...
