Flowers From A Friend

I have just received these beautiful flowers from a great friend of mine. She picked them all from her sweet little cottage garden- I'd rather have these than anything that can be bought in the shops. I placed them in my old enamelware jug and they look and smell wonderful on my kitchen table.
In a few days time they will have faded, so I thought that if I posted them on my blog, I can look at them when I wish and share them with all of you too!

The roses are stunning- a real old fashioned variety- they look like layers of tissue paper in the most delicious pink.
The quote on my calendar for this month reads 'I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck' ....so true!

  1. They look gorgeous! A hundred times nicer than horrid garage flowers, poor things.

(You need to change your calendar,if it's the country homes and interiors one! I prefer Julys' though, I may keep it up for a day or so more)

  6. I really love your blog! Thanks for the nice comment you left at my blog :-) The bag I made out of kitchen towels is my grandmothers, she has made them herself. They are at least 50 years old! She is no longer with us, but when I wear the bag I will always be thinking of her.
I´ll start writing in english in my blog, so I can be understood :-)

  8. Hello!

I've just found you through Moniques blog and have then saw you on Gena's blogroll too. Your blog is lovely! And I do absolutely agree with you, those garden flowers are so much prettier than all the flowers you can buy in a shop. I'm a rose lover as well and grow roses and other flowers in my little garden. And that quote is exquisite, I agree again!
