Thank you to everyone who commented on my post below - But I think I may have bored some of you halfway through it! ;-))...(note to self: make my blog posts a little shorter!) So, just to reiterate;
The large collection of vintage hats at the end of the post were from my photo archives and are no longer in my possession - sorry for any confusion. They have all been sold by me over the years and gone to be with new owners.
There is no way I could justify keeping so many, on top of my existing collection, even though I am always tempted to keep just one more! ;-))
The photos at least serve as a reminder of all the lovely millinery styles that I have seen and enjoyed, even if only for a short time.
It was always fun at the antique fairs watching ladies trying them all on. If they were with friends it sometimes became quite raucous! But then there was always that moment when they tried on the perfect hat, the giggles subsided, and it had found its new head!

It was always lovely too, to see young girls 'finding' vintage and a new generation were set on the road of treasure seeking and reusing, rather than them hitting the high street.
So, the slightly cryptic title?
Can you spot the difference between the flowers in this selection of photographs?

I shall send a prize to the first person to comment with the correct answer! Just a bit of fun for a Friday morning!
Have a great day!

Update: The answer, very quickly, came from Jan. It is that the top 5 photos all show real flowers and others below them are artificial blooms.
Jan, please can you email me via my blog profile with your details and I shall have a little pressie in the post to you soon.

Niki, I thought you might like to know that the pincushion you won is featured in Artful Blogging magazine in an article about the OWOH giveaway. I posted a picture of the page on my blog. Good luck at the V&H fair and have fun! Debra
ReplyDeleteOh darn it!
ReplyDeleteI am too late as usual.. but it was worth seeing these beautiful blooms be they artificial or the real thing..
In fact the faux flowers are so clever these days.. I bought a small pot of artificial daises from a stall at the Country Living Fair at Tatton Park a few years ago.. They have fooled a few.. especially the person who tried to water them!!
Have a a good week and see you a week today!
Michele xx
Your flowers are just stunning..They look like they are artificial!!!! I know they are real. I must say you really have a green thumb..I love how you have them arranged in your pretty china...
