Over the weekend I was lucky to be able to buy part of a lovely lady's lifetime collection of transfer printed Victorian rosey china...
...which is very much a passion of mine. I love the romantic images decorating each piece and the style of a by-gone era that they bring to a home.

There are several pretty little posy vases...
Isn't this a dainty set full of femininity and innocence?

And this large wash bowl which has a chip to the rim, so I shall be keeping this myself to add to an old metal washstand that I have.
*
Most of the other items that I've shown will be coming with me to the V&H fair on Saturday.
*
I hope that they will be worth my investment, but then I won't be too disappointed if I have to keep them all! ;-))
*
I also have lots of other vintage items that I shall be taking along...There's a large selection of sparkling vintage glass bowls, cake stands and pedestal dishes, as well as a variety of unusual and quirky boudoir accessories.
My word Niki, you weren't joking when you told me you'd made some mega purchases! What a collection. There are a couple of items there that I could be tempted by, especially the little green tray and the bowl in the photo above the painting ... just so you know!!
ReplyDeleteDon't they all sit well on the Scheurer fabric!

Didn't you find a load of treasure! Wonderful and lovely, all of it. My favorite was the teal-colored bowl toward the end of the post, just gorgeous and the fabric upon which it sat was so beautiful with the bowl! Good luck with your selling!

ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeletefrom germany. I spent hours to look and read your wonderful blog. Your pictures are fascinating to me and I love porcelaine with flowers so much. (I have some with forget-me-not) in my kitchen. In germany you can very rarely find such beautiful vintage China with roses and when - it is very expensive. You must be glad to find such a treasure and I wanted I could come to your stall. But I´m far away. I have added you to my favourite bloglist and hope this is okay for you.
my best greetings from germany,
rosenresli
What a lovely selection of 'rosy' things. I can't wait to see them 'in person'.
