I've been making lots of handmade goodies to take with me to Elaine's lovely fair on Monday.
Items include this collection of greetings cards, made from antique silk velvet, lace fragments, mother-of pearl buttons, and vintage book pages.
A lovely tall hat stand, made from authentic 30's materials and doll's face.

There are a few of my one-of-a-kind dolls coming too... This is Dorothy, who is wearing a pretty dress made from a vintage eiderdown cotton. |
![]() |
She comes complete with underwear made from hand crocheted lace and a sweet vintage doggie brooch which reminded me of Toto from the Wizard of Oz...Hence her name came about as a result! |

Molly is one of my large rag dolls. Her cheerful outfit has been made from a large piece of C19th French check fabric, a variety of ginghams and other checks, and a pure wool cardigan. |

Pinned to her chest is a genuine WWII sweetheart brooch. |

I've also made four sweet fairy dolls named after types of sugar! |

Muscovado. |

Turbinado. |

Demerara. |

And Maple. |

I've made a few one-off pieces too. I had these antique plates that were unsuitable for food use due to their poor condition. |
![]() |
I gathered some scraps of lace, vintage photos and some buttons to create some unusual collages. |
![]() |
A plate hanger on the back... |
![]() |
And they're ready for display. |
![]() |
Two cushions made from vintage hand embroidery and floral fabrics. |
![]() |
Reverse C1970's Laura Ashley fabric. |
![]() |
All packed and ready for the early start in the morning, with lots of vintage treasures joining my handmade stock... |
![]() |
I'll be doing it all again on Saturday for the Frome Vintage Bazaar, when I hope to have another small collection of handmade dolls ready to take to that too...More details to follow in the week. ![]() Hope to see you at one or both of these much anticipated events, if you can make it. Weather forecasters are predicting a long winter freeze as from November, so it might be wise to start the Christmas shopping early! ;-)) |
