Strawberries and Cream.

'We are getting there'....! That always seems to be the motto in our home when we are tackling DIY! I need to put a few things up on the walls, such as the gold frame that I found at the flea market last week. This will become a box frame to display my vintage French coffee cups in.

I made the curtains from a patchwork of old French Ticking fabrics. There was just enough to put behind the chicken wire of my wall cupboard too.

I hid some of the alcove shelves behind another curtain.

An eclectic mix!

I shall hang the painting of the post box in there soon; appropriately enough, our kitchen was once the village Post Office!

  3. Hi Niki - Looking good! P and I must have said 'we're getting there' a dozen times yesterday (curtain track, pole, sitting room walls, bathroom, reorganising furniture (again)...)!

I love the patchwork and I imagine you're rather pleased with the wallpaper. Sue xx

  6. Wonderful and fresh look Niki! The wallpaper looks so good and your red touches do too! I love the angel lamps and I'm looking forward to see how you add vintage cups to the gold frame. The only thing that seem not to fit in your lovely shabby style and vintage looking kitchen is the microwave.

  7. I pop in here each morning to see photos of your new kitchen, and was so excited to see these this morning! It looks so beautiful, Niki! I love everything you have done... want to come to the US and do over my outdated kitchen? heehee Just GORGEOUS - I love the way you've used all the ticking. There is a house near me that also used to be a post office; it still has a slot in the garage door for "after hours mail"!

  8. WOWEEE POWEEE!!!

That is a transformation, I love the red and white, the ticking, the cupboard and the WHITE floor - alright how do you keep it clean, is it washed everyday? I have brown varnished wood and they are always needing a clean.

A beautiful kitchen Niki well worth the cost of the wallpaper!!
