Paddling in Poole!

It was our wedding anniversary last week, so hubby and I (and two gooseberries! - Our daughter and her chap!) went away for a few nights down in Dorset.
We went via Shaftesbury...
And stayed in Poole in an apartment with fabulous views over the quay.
We were able to see the unique sail bridge open and close several times during our stay.
We were so lucky with the weather, considering what was happening in the north of the country!
The quay was busy with fishermen and holidaymakers alike.

We ate lots of local fish during our stay...

And walked and walked....
Sandbanks, Poole.

Young love! :)

We visited Monkey World (Ape Rescue Centre) again, as we are complete suckers when it comes to fluffy creatures! ;-))
Bournemouth beach.
Lymington.
Lymington Quay and the salt marshes.

We came home via Salisbury, stopping for tea in the antiques emporium on the high street.
I bought this pretty wooden hat stand there - I'd not seen one with a little wooden hat on the top before...Great for my collection.

It was lovely to switch-off from everything for a while.

Hope all is well with you! - If you're taking some time off over Easter, I hope you enjoy yourselves!
I'll be back tomorrow with photos of a gift I made for a friend of mine...Hope she'll like it! :)
