I have also been tagged by the wonderful Kim of 'Ragged Roses'.
The rules of the tag are as follows:
Archive Meme Instructions: Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favourite blog posts that you’ve written. … but there is a catch: Link 1 must be about family. Link 2 must be about friends. Link 3 must be about yourself, who you are… what you’re all about. Link 4 must be about something you love. Link 5 can be anything you choose. I think this is a great way to circulate some of the great older posts everyone had written, return to a few great places in our memories and also learn a little something about ourselves and each other that we may not know.
Link 1 - My Family: I admit to keeping my blog fairly non-personal. I originally started writing it as a way to promote my business and to be in contact with like-minded women. So this blog post was an unusual one for me to write and was an update of some of the things we as a family had got up to over the summer last year.
Link 2 - My Friends: It is of course great to make virtual friends through the world of Blogging, but some of the best moments can be when we actually get to meet in person. In this post from March 2007 I wrote about meeting up with friends at a textile fair.
Link 3 - Myself: I've never been very good at writing about myself! I think the only time I have done so, is when I wrote my very first blog post as an introduction. (2 years down the line -Please excuse those goggle glasses and my hair is now more purple than red!! Lol)
Link 4 - A Love: One of my loves is to regularly visit flea markets and antiques fairs. (In fact I was out yesterday looking for more treasures and found the collection of goodies at the very top of this post.) This link is one of my more successful days.
Link 5 - Anything! Although I spend most of my spare moments sewing, I also like to try other crafts, decorating and general interior design. This link is to a little cupboard make-over that I did and was very pleased with, but now realise that I actually never posted a photo of where it ended up. It now hangs above my computer, storing CDs and my camera etc. so I look at it every day when I am Blogging!
Hope this list hasn't been too tedious for you all! Please feel free to join in with the game, if you would also like to share some of your archives with your blogging friends.....

Hello Niki - Thanks for doing this tag! I realised when I posted that I hadn't actually contacted you about doing it! I went out to do some gardening and came back again to find you not only tagged but posted as well! Such lovely posts Niki - I remember most of them but not the two early ones. They are so lovely to read and a wonderful reminder of just how talented you are.

Hi Niki
ReplyDeleteHasn't the time flown by since the textile fair last year. That was the first time I met Donna although it seems now as if I've known her for ever!
I enjoyed doing my meme, too - thanks for commenting. I think it's good to look back from time to time!

Hello me again, I just read your comment - yes that is my stuff, I piled it all up just to photograph for the post, then had to put it all away again! Mr. Bloom caught me doing it and just rolled his eyes, no wonder I can never find time to do anything else!

Congratulations on the award. Your "5 link meme" was fun to read and look back through your archives!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun-read this was, Niki! I had never spotted your very first post, so I had an enjoyable time reading that one especially. I remember seeing the photo of your girls catching the crabs like it was just yesterday... and to think it was last August!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week - here's hoping we both have a little springlike weather!
You forgot your sale day back in June, that was fam dabby dozy .... well it was for me hee hee!
ReplyDeleteLove to look back on your posts, especially all those flea market finds.
