Turn Back Time; the High Street. BBC1 9pm
Well done Shepton Mallet, you looked great tonight! (And I'm quite chuffed to have seen my little shop on TV this evening, including in the opening shot!)
Fantastic work by Wall to Wall and all the lovely families involved...Here are a few of the shots that I took during filming...
I'll be back tomorrow, but for now I am tired after being open all day for the Victorian Event in the town...
Please enjoy....

LOVED the first episode and was so excited to see your shop in the background so much and then to see you on your stall on Market day :-)
ReplyDeleteThe photos of you and Dave from this evening are fabulous (Isabelle shared them). You both look amazing x
oooh hot of the press Niki, just left a comment on the previous one. Adding to that Shepton Mallot is a very pretty place, this programme will be great for marketing the town.
ReplyDeletebest wishes Ginny
Hello Niki, It must have been fantastic to have witnessed all this first hand, I just love tv programs like this where they recreate the past so acurately.
ReplyDeleteShepton Mallet looks such a pretty town what a shame the retail park has left the pretty town shops empty.I hope shops like yours and this show brings an abundance of new life to it. x
What a brilliant programme - and your shop looked lovely - I do hope this programme will do alot for Shepton Mallet - I used to live in Oakhill and often visited, but it was quite a sad place - but with such pretty buildings. So hope all improves now!

Watched the first episode with my 11 year old son and we really enjoyed it - lovely to see your little shop in quite a few of the shots. Matthew was most interested in the ironmongers and I would have loved one of those candles and holders for myself. Karen X
ReplyDeleteReally loved seeing your shop......i must have told my daughter 100 times that shop is the lady on the internets shop.... yes i know you told me already it looked lovely only wished i lived nearter, Debbie

so excited to see your shop in the background! I actually got a little teary (lame I know) at some points especially when that little old lady was speaking after buying her candle! You should be very proud to live in Shepton Mallet :) xox
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely pictures, thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteI have really loved all your updates on this show, and I've been looking forward to watching it, but you can't from the US! I'm quite disappointed. The BBC1 website feed just tells me it's not available in my area. I'll have to continue to live vicariously through your photographs. ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kate (above). I would love to see it and I hope it will come to us on PBS as some other BBC productions do. You sure got into your shop at the right time!
ReplyDeleteHi Niki
ReplyDeleteI kept sayin to M, "thats Niki's shop", "thats Niki's shop just behind Gregs shoulder"......
Have the BEEB left the shops in good condition as it would now be nice for people to take on the leases, if I wasn't so far away.....
You and Dave looked great in costume.

How wonderful, watched it and thought how well your shop fitted in.
ReplyDeleteI saw your lovely shop in the local news too when they were talking about the programme. I haven't seen the programme yet we recorded it to watch at a later date.

ooooooooo ooooooooo ther was your shop! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great programme
xx
Me too, I loved all about it! BBC is a great broadcaster! Always pointed out your shop to my EG who came home just in time to watch it with me. I hope now that Shepton Mallet is going to be visited by loads and loads of people and more shop keepers are inspired to open. I loved that victorian head-torche, lol.
ReplyDeleteI missed it last night, not in charge of the remote control!) but am definitely going to sit down and watch it today.

What a wonderful programme - I think my husband got quite annoyed with me exclaiming, "Look, there's Niki's shop!" everytime it came into view. Can't wait for the next episode.
ReplyDeleteHi Niki
ReplyDeleteBrilliant photos!
It was a great episode wasn't it, I didn't want it to end! So exciting to see glimpses of your shop in several scenes :-) The town looked great too. It's such a brilliant series and the families obviously had fun being involved too. Can't wait for the Edwardian era!
I love the last photo of your candles :-)

So enjoyed watching the programme last night and to see you and your shop, Just wonderful. x
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed the show and your shop was in shot loads of times!
ReplyDeleteTurned on and what was almost the first shot - Niki's shop!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great programme, really looking forward to the rest of the series.
The history and natural history programmes make the licence fee an absolute bargain.
Thank you for giving us the advance notice in the summer and for the lovely photos.

Thank goodness for satellite TV! Loved the program and loved seeing your shop. My dear OH is now recovering from my shouting every two minutes - 'ooh look - there it is!'. Well done to all - I'm really looking forward to seeing the next episodes. Carol x
ReplyDeleteOh Niki, I am so glad I got to watch it on catch-up (and so cross for my family abroad that they can't watch anything on iPlayer - boo!!). I'm afraid I'm another one who was bouncing up and down on the sofa with glee every time I saw your shop lol. Luckily, the OH and daughter were at work so they didn't have to put up with my squeals. I so hope Shepton, and all high streets, are revived.
