My daughter (who is currently studying fashion and textiles at uni) reliably informs me that the trends this season take inspiration from the 1940's...So these 'make do and mend' brooches are certainly in vogue! ;-))

I love wearing a cluster of thee button brooches on a beret or cloche hat, but until now I've always sewn them on...doh...why didn't I think of brooch backs!
