Received a quick makeover...
And I applied this wonderful old Huckleberry Finn fabric that I bought from Sue, to the drawer fronts...
And the top.
And the top.

I also wanted to show this little pelmet that I made from a gorgeous appliquéd net that I bought from Lizzie.
I carefully trimmed away the net from around the bottom edge of the appliqué and made a channel at the top to thread a wire through.
OK, that's all folks!
beautiful makeovers as always!
ReplyDeletehave a good day in the shop and a lovely weekend

ReplyDeleteHi Niki,
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to arrive home from decorating and building at the coast to two pretty posts from you :)
The drawers are fabulous and the pelmet is gorgeous,i have some petticoat bottoms i want to use to cover our plastic windows, once they are in,we wanted wood sash but we are too close to the sea,
Hope your weekend was lovely xxxx
Lovely chest of drawers... I have a question. How do you finish the edges? If I ever get to the UK, I would go directly to your shop!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments - I have received a few emails in response to this post...Here is my method for the drawers: I used PVA glue for my make-over. I make sure I spread an even, but thin coat over the area to cover, using a large paintbrush, making sure not to miss anywhere, as this will cause air bubbles. A careful smoothing of the fabric is then all it takes – making sure not to pull in the wrong direction to the weave. Any seepage should be OK, as the glue dries clear. I carefully trim the edges and gently flick them with the gluey brush and smooth any fibres down firmly with my finger.
ReplyDeleteHope that helps,
Niki
