I started collecting enamelware when I first got married almost 22 years ago! At that time, car-boot sales were few and far between, so they were quite difficult to come by. Also I don't think people valued them years ago and just saw them as a utilitarian object.
I have a few blue and white china ones (and yellow!) perfect for everyday and storing kitchen utensils.
Pretty Rose printed china for afternoon tea and flowers!
Teeny-tiny ones for display.....
and just for fun!!
Why don't you join in!? I was amazed how many I had when I started looking!! I didn't realize I had ANOTHER collection!!
Thanks for the link Niki. Your collection is gorgeous. I love all the floral ones. It's funny but seeing yours made me remember a few of mine that I didn't include. I have a collection of red enamelware that includes some jugs. Totally forgot those!
ReplyDeleteHi Niki, what a lovely collection, I have lots of jugs too and one really beautiful big floral one which I bought from your stand at Shepton last year! I suspect you are the same as me and find it impossible to have just one of something - apart from a husband that is - one is MORE than enough I think!!! Clare xx
ReplyDeleteI know if I got all mine together I would find that I have yet ANOTHER collection!
ReplyDeleteLove all yours and the last ones is very cute :)
Lovely collection for sure!I can see a huge bunch of white daisies in that enamel pitcher actually any bunch of flowers! :)NG
ReplyDeleteHi Niki, ahhh the roses ones are for me and is'nt that cute postcard behind the smiley jug adorable - come to mention it smiley is pretty adorable to.
ReplyDeleteI used to collect jugs years ago, but went mad on it all and ended up with no space, I think most of them are in the loft ... somewhere.
Best wishes Ginny
NIKI,
ReplyDeleteThere are a few there that I'am pretty sure you should send my way. How pretty they all are. I will have to go around here and take a few pictures of mine. I seem to have a major camera blog obsession of late, must post everyday!! Pretty soon I will have to do the neighbors house and their stuff.
NANCY JO
Darn it! Between the two of you (Nonnie & you), I'm thinking about starting another collection, of jugs, of course!. Not that I really any encouragement :)

ReplyDeleteLovely, just lovley
The enamel jugs are beautiful - I have a couple of small stripey ones that I bought to put narcissi in for my stall at the Country Living Fair in Glasgow last year - I could have sold them a hundred times over!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely bags which arrived today,
Jane
Oh, they are so lovely. I'm going to take search my house and post what I have but it won't be as lovely or as many as yours or Nonnies. Jen

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea oh yes I'll join in!:D You have a wonderful collection of very pretty jugs Niki, especially the rose jugs are delightful! I found 3 jugs in your collection that I own as well, the blue&white creamer and 2 of the white enemal jugs. I hopefully get around to take pictures tomorrow afternoon!
ReplyDeleteFound your site today, it is simple divine! I love looking at your collections. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI arrive your blog about another blog. All your beautiful thinks on your blog are my taste exactly. I will come back, surely.
ReplyDeleteNice collections. I just adore the pink flowers. I have 3 similar ones myself. Although because they've become so collectible, I have a very hard time finding them. Purple flowers seem to be everywhere...but the pink just aren't showing themselves. I will continue searching. Thank you for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteI love it. But I don't know how, I just have 2 that my mother in law gave to me 2 or 3 years ago. I think because the kids, I just kept shopping for them and never for me and also, while they are little I hide the breakables..I already lost few decorations..and because we keep moving all the time I think just now I see how basic I am with our home!! Sorry, I went to far. I really wanted to say how I like the ones with roses.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic collection. Your blue and white creamers remind me of the little blue and white mug I had tea in as a child and both my children used for tea parties. It now sits in a cupboard with my Blue Willow china.
ReplyDeleteYour aqua brooch is something like one I have only its missing a few stones. The tiny jugs are all beautiful...almost bought one the other day but it had a chip so I decided against it; maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteAnnabelle ~^..^~ xo
Thank you everyone for your comments. I look forward to seeing some of your jug collections!
ReplyDeleteI discovered enamelware here in France. It is sold at every brochante and flea market. I started collecting it because it is affordable. There are some amazing painted coffe pots but many of those are out of my range.
ReplyDeleteI love your collections. I think we have a LOT in common.
