Once again the springtime Ilminster Textile fair has come around again. I visited the beautiful old Meeting House yesterday with hubby. He headed straight for the cafe and a bacon bap(!) and I was left to enjoy the fair.
Inside was a tantalising array of vintage loveliness! Our friends Lizzie and Donna both had beautifully presented stands there, with antique and vintage fabrics and notions to tempt the buying public. I also met a fellow blogger for the first time; Isabelle was chatting to the sweet Ros from 'The Snug' in Ashburton and I was eavesdropping(!) - I thought she must be Isabelle so said hello! Sue was there finding some beautiful stock too - definitely a blogger's playground!
This is a small part of Ros's stand with all it's deliciousness!
After making some purchases, I met up with hubby again for a quick cup of tea, then we left Ilminster. We had been invited to lunch at my Aunt and Uncle's house, who live less than 15 minutes from the town centre.
French fabrics and monogrammed tapes, velvet strawberries and millinery flower, as well as the lovely lady looking very Marie Antoinette. (Talking of which, have you seen the wonderful giveaway that Ginny is offering everyone a chance to win on her blog, in honour of Marie?)

They live in a beautiful stone house, converted from an old coach house. They have just decided to put it up for sale, as they wish to move to be nearer family in Essex...if all goes ahead, they will be a lot further away from us next time, so it was wonderful to catch up with them over lunch.
When we got back home, I unpacked my purchases from the fair...

I would have loved to go to this, especially as it's only a few miles from our cottage. Sadly, they always seem to be on Wednesdays, grrr! I've enjoyed my "virtual visit" via your pics, thanks very much. Lovely goodies you found.
