  3. Thank you for letting us have a stroll round your beautiful shop! I love that metal thing where the cards have been hung up on the wee pegs. Is it for in front of a fire place? Can you please give me the dimensions? And you still got the other scale - I wonder if I cannot send my son.......

  4. Always a pleasure to go on a virtual tour of your shop. One day I hope to visit in person.

Is the lace at your window vintage or new? If new, could you point me towards a supplier? My windows really need lace but it's hard to find an affordable supply. xx

  6. Hi Andi,
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your comment...
It's one of the questions I'm asked most of all...where did the lace come from at the front windows of my shop?! Given that I don't buy new unless I absolutely have to...This was a very old and tatty bedspread that was beyond repair...I sliced up the main section of it to make two full length side curtains. The pillow flap section became the two pelmet pieces (I just stitched simple channels across the tops.)...Once gathered on tension wires, the damage is difficult to spot...besides, I'd rather live with a few rips and tears than buy something nylony and horrid! ;-)) I also used a lace tray cloth cut in half for the door pelmets.

I'd recommend looking out for any old lace bits...deep hand crochet trims, tablecloths or bedspread are all great for recycling.

    Hope that helps,
    Niki

  8. Hello Anke! Thank you for visiting my blog and for your comment...Of all the items to spot in my shop(!) this is one item not for sale...Yes, it is a fire guard, but is very tatty and has been repaired in its lifetime with wire, so I use it for display around my shop...the grid is very useful for using with miniature pegs to hold things in place. I'll let you know if I ever find anything similar!

Yes, the scales are still for sale... :)
