We planted seeds... |
And waited for them to grow... |
Picked a daisy and buttercup bouquet... Blew bubbles... |
And watched the birds all day. Grandma x *************************** |
My dishes went
unwashed today
I didn’t make the bed
I took her hand and followed
Where her eager footsteps led.
Oh yes, we went adventuring
My little child and I
Exploring all the great outdoors
Beneath the sun and sky.
We watched a robin feed her young
We climbed a sunlit hill
Saw cloud-sheep scamper through the sky
We plucked a daffodil.
That my house was so neglected
That I didn’t brush the stairs
In twenty years no one on earth
Will know or even care.
But that I’ve helped my little child
To see and learn and grow
In twenty years the whole wide world
May look and see and know.

It's priceless isn't it. We are enjoying the company of our youngest grandson for a few weeks and every day is a wonder. He's not yet three but can hold a proper conversation with you. As for the poem how right are those sentiments!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment...Your grandson is about the same age as our granddaughter...we too have lovely conversations and play imaginary games all day...Being Grandma is a very special relationship. Enjoy the times, Niki
