Compton House Shopping Event

Bright and early Saturday morning, Mum and I made our way to Compton House, Axbridge, for the Shopping Event that I was attending.

After being welcomed by Patricia the owner and being shown the Elizabethan bedroom that was to be my 'pitch', we had a quick look around the beautiful house and gardens.

I then had to get on with arranging my stock around the bedroom to entice the visitors...

(I could have sold the fantastic four poster bed several times!)

I shared the room with Julia, who I have met before at the local flea markets. She sells beautiful floral china and had a wonderful selection with her on Saturday. We had a great laugh all day.

It was a very long day though and by the end of Saturday I wasn't feeling 100%. I decided not to do the Sunday as well. I'm sorry if anyone visited on the Sunday and I wasn't there - This wasn't the best venue for my goods, as it lacked the 'vintage-vibe', but there were plenty of other goods throughout the hotel to tempt the visitors...

Thanks to those who stopped by to say hello - It was lovely to see Radka again and to meet Julie from Devon.

Mum is staying with me for a few more days, so I may be off the radar till then...

I would like to quickly mention a new blog though. I spoke of Carole in a previous post. She was very kind in lending a Victorian skirt to me for the Victorian Event in Shepton Mallet.

Her new blog is called Vampalicious and her post about the recent event is here. Hope you'll enjoy a visit.
Have a great week,
Niki x

  7. Thanks for the link Niki - I didn't make it to the 70s finale because of the snow, it was too cold to wear the ultra floaty 70s number I was planning on wearing. Hope you took pics of the costumes so we can see them. x
