Preparations for Sunday...

I've been working hard this week making some more of my little hand bags and a few other surprises to take along to Sue's fair this weekend...
I didn't use this miniature sewing machine to make the bags, but this little cutie will be coming with me to the fair on Sunday, along with plenty of other costume and textile related antique/vintage treasures...

The first 'Vintage Textile and Costume Day' will be held at Dairy House Antiques Centre, Semley - More details can be found here.
This is Celeste, who will be sat amongst a few other friends.

She has a cosy mohair jacket and paisley dress for a fresh spring look.

The bags have all been made from some of my finest antique French fabrics from the early/mid C19th. Each is unique and has vintage trims and coordinating buttons.

The rest I shall keep quiet about...basically because I have to spend all day tomorrow getting organised, in between customers, as I still haven't totally established what will be coming with me yet...Shhh...you won't tell anyone, will you?!
Look forward to seeing you if you can make it along to hopefully sunny Dorset...I'm sure the fair is going to be fabulous and will have textile enthusiasts swooning at the delights available to buy.

Have a lovely weekend, what ever your plans,
Niki x

  3. Hi Niki
Lovely bags made from some delicious fabrics, and I love Celeste. Good luck at the fair. I would love to have been there but it is such a long way, but one year I will have to make the trip.

  9. Fabulous little bags. And I loved the little sewing machine. It reminded me of my great-grandmother's treadle sewing machine. I taught my daughter to sew on it but, alas, I can't find needles that fit it anymore.
    Good luck at your fair.
