A Date in Dartmouth

Hubby and I are just back from spending a magical few days away in Dartmouth for our wedding anniversary.

Whilst there, we visited the beautiful 1920's Coleton Fishacre retreat, owned by the National Trust. Once a holiday residence for the D'Oyly Carte family, it has a wonderful homely atmosphere, mainly due to the artifacts feeling very familiar, with most being less than 100 years old. Many of the pieces could have been found in my shop at one time or another, including Lloyd Loom chairs and laundry baskets, feather-filled eiderdowns, hand embroidered pictures, Dartmouth vases and other 20's/30's china...

I'd certainly recommend a visit if ever you are in the area.

  5. Happy Anniversary. We actually had our honeymoon at Dartmouth, it is one of my really favourite places, then my my parents built a house at Dittisham in the early 80's so we spent a lot of time there.
