Difficulty in Finding the Right Words...

I generally try to keep my blog upbeat, and in the past I've tried not to dwell on those testing, personal, or difficult times in life for too long; but very sadly this month I have heard of the loss of two young sons, in two separate incidents, to two grieving families, and my heart has ached for them. Both boys were just the same age as one of my own daughters, which brought it home all the more - I count my blessings and am thankful for the time I have with my own family.
Look after yourselves,
Niki x

  1. How sad, doesn't it putting everything into perspective when you hear of such tragic circumstances. I'm just hoping the boys weren't only children. It doesn't lessen the loss but it does give the parents a reason to keep going.

  2. I feel for you, it is coming up to the anniversary of the death of my 18 year old nephew on the 28/3. Taken so suddenly but never forgotten.

  5. There can surely be nothing sadder than a young life cut short before it's time.....No words, as you say, can adequately express the feelings such a tragedy evokes but rest assured, they touch us all... Our hearts and prayers go out to you and the families at this most difficult time......

It is coming up to the 5th anniversary since losing our son aged just 18, he was only at the start of his life, circumstances at the hopital he was taken to after he died have added to the burden we have to bear. I am honestly not sure how we go on, but we do, we don't really have a lot of choice. If we laugh or smile we feel guilty for he can no longer smile, if we cry we feel guilty for he can no longer cry, we go on because of him, he had no choice he loved life so we do our living for him....isn't it a very cruel world?

  7. Hi Niki ... you're right, the loss of a child is the most terrible thing that can happen ... I do not even want to think about what can do in a situation like this ...
I also have a little niece and I love him more than my children ...
I hope to find him soon, a hug

  9. Hello Niki

What a great loss for both families, made worse by the fact that both boys were young.

News like that does make you pause and think. We must appreciate the time we have with our loved ones.

    I will pray for them.

    Take care

  13. Hi Nikki,

I am so sorry for your friends’ loss. I don’t think I fully understood the pain, worry or joy of being a parent until I became one myself. Although they are strangers to me please let them know that people are thinking of them.

    Best wishes,
    Gillian

  14. Please pass on that strangers were touched by their loss. I'll make sure this weekend I feel grateful for all my blessings.

  15. Oh Niki, not a second one. How very sad. Not just for them but for you, too, as I know how much you felt the loss of the first one.

Life is so short, we must treasure every moment.

  16. The ability to grieve is human. The ability to feel the grief of others and want to remove it is angelic. You,sweet Niki, are an angel on this earth for your sweet heart and passion to remove the pain from another by taking it on yourself. By sending out your message, we all take a little piece of that pain and share it with those families. Blessings to them and to you. Sea Witch
