Devonshire Delights...

Just a quick post - as usual I am in a hurry...but as mentioned in my previous post, here are some of the delights that I found in Devon last weekend.
Tapestry cottage pictures - very Devonshire! ;-))

Barbola mirror and a group of painted hat stands. The 1930's china parrot spill holder is identical to one that I found on my last visit to Devon(!) - I kept him, but this one I shall have to part with!

An adorable plaster statue of a rather theatrical little Miss.

The sweetest smocked yoke child's dress.

Vintage sparkles.

Framed prints and an oil painting.

A sweet selection of nostalgic postcards.

Two albums complete with their sets of cigarette cards.

And vintage pressed and cut glass to name but a few...

**
I also spent my Birthday money on two treats for me.
This very old purse with its pretty flower trimmed clasp...

I should imagine it was once a bridal purse - the metal thread that runs through the silk fabric of the body has tarnished over the years to a slightly blackened finish. I love the effect this has given it, as well as the tattiness of the fabric flowers.
And I bought this romantic framed print, which is actually a print on silk. I shall hang it above the slipper bath in our bedroom.

I'd also just like to mention; if you happen to be anywhere near Shepton Mallet tomorrow, then please consider coming into the town to enjoy the grand opening of the new market. The town needs its visitors support so that the market can continue to be a regular attraction in the months ahead.
Enjoy the rest of your week,
Niki x
